Twins born five years apart (If you don’t believe read this article and see photo graphs)

It may seem quite unreal but a mother has given birth to twins 5 years apart with the help of fertility treatment.

Reuben and Floren Blake were conceived from the same batch of embryos, but born five years apart.

Their parents Simon and Jody Blake began fertility treatment at a Bristol clinic in 2005 after trying to start a family without success.

Five embryos were created and two implanted in Jody, which led to the birth of 9lb 5oz Reuben on December 9, 2006.
 The remaining three embryos were frozen until the couple decided to try for another child last March.
 Only one of these three embryos survived the defrosting process and was successfully implanted.
Floren was born on November 16 last year – five years after Reuben – weighing 8lb 12oz.

“It does feel quite surreal,” the Daily Express quoted Jody, 38, a charity worker from Cheltenham, Gloucs, as saying.

“We obviously had nine months to get it straight and to think ‘Gosh, we’re having Reuben’s twin’ but it’s incredibly special.

“It feels like an absolute miracle really, and I think we’re incredibly lucky,” she added.

Yahoo Named Scott Thompson as New CEO

Yahoo has named Scott Thompson, former president of online payment service PayPal, as its new chief executive officer.

Wednesday's announcement ended the internet company's four-month search for the right person to fill the position, Xinhua reported.

Thompson's appointment will be effective fromJan 9, when he will also formally join the company's board of directors, Yahoo said in a press release.

Yahoo fired former CEO Carol Bartz Sep 6, 2011. Bartz had taken over as CEO from Yahoo co-founder Jerry Young in January 2009, when the company was struggling to stay competitive and profitable in a market dominated by Google.

"Yahoo is an industry icon and I am very excited about the prospect of working with one of the great teams in the online world to deliver Yahoo's next era of success," Thompson said in a statement upon his appointment.

"Yahoo has a rich history and a solid foundation to build on, and its continued user engagement is one of the many reasons for my enthusiasm," he said.

While announcing Thompson's appointment, Yahoo said he had a track record of growing businesses by driving customer engagement built on strong technology platforms when he served as president of PayPal, a division of eBay.

Under Thompson's leadership, PayPal expanded its user base from 50 million to more than 104 million worldwide, and revenues from $1.8 billion to over $4 billion in 2011, according to Yahoo.

Thompson also previously served as PayPal's senior vice president and chief technology officer. Prior to PayPal, he was executive vice president of technology solutions at Inovant, a subsidiary of Visa formed to oversee global technology for the organisation.

"Scott brings to Yahoo a proven record of building on a solid foundation of existing assets and resources to reignite innovation and drive growth, precisely the formula we need at Yahoo," Yahoo chairman Roy Bostock said in a statement.

Following Thompson's appointment, Tim Morse, who acted as interim CEO, will resume his role as the company's chief financial officer, Yahoo said.

Chinese designer discover a car that can travel in land, water and ice

Can You imagine that you can drive dame car in hilly region off roads, water and blacktopped road? The Imagination is about to come true as A Chinese inventor has come up with an incredible new design for a car that will work on tarmac, sand, ice... and even water.

The all-terrain vehicle, which has a top speed of 62mph and works like a hovercraft, can move seamlessly between different surfaces.

Designer Yuhan Zhang, 21, created the spectacular car - called the Volkswagen Aqua - for a competition sponsored by the German car manufacturer.

It features a shiny, sleek design with four fans and integrated airbags that inflate to make it hover.

And it's also environmentally-friendly as its two motors are powered by a hydrogen fuel cell - with zero carbon emissions.

One of the motors inflates a 'skirt' around the vehicle to lift it off the ground, while the other drives it forward and controls direction.

Mr Zhang said: 'There is no better form of transport than an air cushion vehicle because it travels equally well over land, ice and water.

'I hope Aqua will become an affordable supercar that is available to the general public one day.'

The competition asked designers to come up with a 'Chinese off-road vehicle'. Aqua is based on technology that is currently available.

The TV of the future arrives early!! TV having Thickness of Just 4mm

This week, LG will unveil the first 55-inch OLED television - a technology that offers razor-thin screens, sharper colours and faster-moving screens than any previous television.

Organic LED - OLED - is used widely in high-end smartphones such as Samsung's Galaxy S2, but up until now, manufacturing large screens using the technology has been too expensive.

The set is just 4mm thick and weighs 7.5kg. It will launch at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas this week.

The television updates 1,000 times faster than current LED sets.

LG claims to have cracked a new manufacturing process that makes the set far cheaper to produce - although the company has still not said how much the TV will cost.

The set has four colours of pixel, rather than the usual three, which makes for high-contrast, sharp images with realistic colours.

‘We have a product which not only delivers on all the advantages of OLED over LCD but at a significantly lower cost,’ said Havis Kwon,CEO of LG Electronics. ‘OLED is clearly the future of home TV entertainment.’

Earlier OLED sets - Sony and others have already unveiled smaller sets - tended to have colours that changed depending on what angle viewers looked at the set from. 

The new set has an infinite contrast ratio, and the speed - 1,000 times faster than LED sets - ensures it can show extremely fast-moving scenes without motion blur.

Anti-wrinkle cream soon coming to Market that will 'trick' human skin cells to regenerate

A leading cosmetic company will soon be coming out with a new range of anti-ageing cream that will ‘trick’ human skin cells into regenerating themselves. The products, meant for smoothing out wrinkles and repairing damaged skin, have been created by experts in ‘glycobiology’, the science of using naturally occurring sugars to improve health.

L’Oreal expects that its shot at harnessing the technology, registered as Glycanactif, will prove a popular addition to the 2billion pounds British cosmetics market.

Artificial chemicals have been developed to mimic the behaviour of natural chemicals, which penetrate the surface and stimulate the regeneration of skin cells, the Daily Mail reported.

These natural chemicals become less active with age, so it is expected that the cream would cause a manufactured stimulus to the skin to apparently improve its condition and appearance as if the body was much younger.

Reportedly, the researchers have found improvements in skin’s elasticity, thickness and smoothness.

“There is still much more to cell signalling and the ageing process, but all the cosmetics we had before were acting on the surface,” Bruno Bernard, research director at L’Oreal, said.

“Now we are able to create a rejuvenating effect on the deeper levels of the skin,” Bernard added.
