Samsung’s Mobile Unpacked event at Radio City Music Hall in New York is scheduled for March 14, 7pm in New York, which will be March 15, 5am in UAE, and March 14, 11pm GMT.
With no more than 12 hours to go for Samsung’s unveiling of what almost everyone in the industry believes will be the new Galaxy S4 smartphone, a slew of images and a video of the much sought-after phone have appeared on the Internet.
This is perhaps the last of the ‘Galaxy S4 rumours’ to make an appearance online before the real thing is unveiled today at the Mobile Unpacked event.
“This time tomorrow, we'll meet #TheNextGalaxy live @TimesSquareNYC for Samsung #UNPACKED,” said Samsung Mobile (@SamsungMobile) in its Twitter update at about 6 am in Nepal, a Chinese site Mobile.it168.com, featuring a handset with the Samsung logo – the device in question does bear striking resemblance to other images that leaked earlier this week.
The new set of images, however, also features the text ‘Galaxy SIV,’ lending further credence that the current leaks may indeed be the real thing – or an elaborate hoax.
Also leaked yesterday was a video of what the Chinese forum 52Samsung.com maintains is the new Galaxy S4. You can watch the video here:
Whether or not this video is real will be found out within a few hours – but eager fans have already seen this YouTube video more than 1.3 million (and counting) times since it was published less than 48 hours earlier.
Samsung offered its own teaser of what the Galaxy S4 will look like in a heavily concealed image of a smartphone in a Twitter update.
The new set of images leaked on Mobile.it168.com also comes with accompanying text (in Chinese, translated through Google Chrome), which suggests that the Galaxy S4 will host an eight-core chip under its bonnet and a 4.99-inch screen on face value. The phone will measure 7.7m in thickness, and will weigh 138 grams.
